A total of 1.587 wrapped round bales!
On Tuesday, July 2nd, a team from Kverneland Group Sweden embarked on a world record attempt at the farm of Bro Godås in Säffle, Sweden. The objective was to achieve the maximum number of bales produced within 24 hours of continuous operation.
In preparation, 100 hectares of heavy grass were pre-cut. At 17:00, Oscar Svantesson Mander initiated the challenge using a 240 hp tractor and the latest Kverneland Non-Stop Baler-Wrapper combination, the "Kverneland FastBale Premium." The attempt resulted in a world record of 1,587 wrapped bales.
The record was accomplished under full practical conditions, including travel time between fields, machine maintenance, and the replacement of net/film, all factored into the total baling time.

Validation of the World Record
"In May 2024, Kverneland initiated an activity to try to prove the advantages of its Kverneland FastBale baler and wrapper. The machine both bale and wrap without having to stop, thanks to a patented concept where the bale is formed in two chambers.
In calculating the number of bales produced per each ten-minute period, the following conclusion could be drawn: the exact 24 hours that elapsed between 2 July at 17:00 and 3 July at 17:00 showed that 1587 bales were produced. This means 66.125 bales per hour and less than one minute per bale, or 54 seconds per bale."

Record-Breaking Bale Features
FastBale Premium uses two chambers: a main chamber and a smaller pre-chamber. It works like this:
- The main chamber forms a bale.
- Crop flow switches to the pre-chamber.
- The finished bale is wrapped and ejected.
- The pre-chamber fills up.
- Pre-chamber contents move to the main chamber.
- A new bale starts forming.
This process repeats, allowing non-stop baling and wrapping.
FastBale Premium provides fully automatic operation. The result is that not only is productivity significantly increased, but stress and fatigue for the operator are reduced. The only operation the operator needs to choose is whether to control the release of the wrapped bale. Elimination of stop-start operation also gives a significant reduction in wear and tear on the tractor transmission.
FastBale Premium’s innovative wrapping system incorporates twin satellites which rotate about the vertical axis, with the bale supported on two powered rollers. This layout substantially reduces the space required for rotation of the film, resulting in a more compact machine, faster operation and higher precision in wrapping.
